MVMA is a professional organization that promotes and enhances the field of volunteer management for its members and metropolitan St. Louis.
MVMA strives to fulfill our mission in every possible way. Our program selections, speakers, topics, meeting locations and membership benefits are selected because they support the realization of our mission. We work hard to ensure that every action we take as MVMA members contributes to the enhancement of the volunteer management field in our area.
Vision
MVMA:
- Is the premier professional organization for volunteer managers and provides our members with high quality programming that is timely and relevant to them. The organization is recognized, well-known and established in the community.
- Provides a combination of programming and education that is not available elsewhere by obtaining speakers and educators who are experts in their field and not attainable via conventional networking outlets.
- Enables members to take ownership of their jobs by providing them with empowering information and resources. Our members, in turn, become recognized leaders in their organizations and in the field of volunteer management, thus elevating their professional careers.
- Enables members to better lead their agency volunteers, thus expanding the number of community volunteers and increasing the satisfaction and dedication of community volunteers. Improvements in the community can be directly linked to the work of volunteers who are led by MVMA members.
- Attracts qualified, professional, dedicated people to serve on the Board of Directors. These individual are diverse in background and qualifications and are committed to the growth of the organization. They contribute their knowledge toward the success of the organization and continually take steps to increase their knowledge and contributions.
- Is the first professional organization that comes to the mind for people wanting to learn more about the field of volunteer management. In turn, the organization regularly connects with like-minded organizations and is open to potential collaborations that advance our mission.
- Utilizes appropriate technology by finding ways to make our organization more effective through technology advances, thus enhancing the growth and size of the organization and connection with its members.
- Is diverse in membership. Members come from all areas in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area and are highly representative of overall area demographics. Member organizations are diverse in the type of work they do, providing members with the opportunity to reach a broad range of volunteers.
- Prudently uses funds to enhance the programming and professionalism of the organization. Funds are closely monitored and audited to ensure financial integrity of the organization.
